Here’s our latest blog post from our guest blogger Civvy Street Bootcamp.
Only 10 days to go!!!
Are you a new mud runner going for fun or an experienced runner aiming to smash a personal best? Either way you are going have a great time and face some fun challenges.
Here are 5 things to remember when doing JCB MUD RUN
1. Don’t forget to help each other
If you are in a team or running on your own, you will come across someone who needs help, or encouragement.
Don’t shout at someone if they can’t do a obstacle that your waiting to do, give them a helping hand, you never know, you may need their help on the next obstacle
2.Wear the correct clothing
Many opt to take part in fancy dress, but when considering this ensure you have the correct footwear, no pumps or heels. It is also preferable that your legs are covered to avoid scrapes - at some points of the race you will be on your hands and knees!
Many of these marshals have given up their weekend to be here so you can have fun, so if something goes goes wrong don’t blame them!!! Give the marshals a High Five, they do a great job. Remember, if there were no marshals there would be no JCB MUD RUN
4. Don’t neglect safety
Obstacle Racing is a little more dangerous than your average running race so use your common sense when racing. The organisers will ensure that the course is safe, but that doesn’t mean you should be jumping off things and causing undue safety or harm to yourself and others.
5. Get stuck in the mud
Do not avoid the mud and water, that’s the fun part! Get stuck in and have fun, after all that’s what you are there for.
